This week's list is quite frankly my attempt to regain my reputation as one with unparalleled musical taste. Can we just agree to ignore the Raspberry Berry thing already? It's getting old. Anyway- here are a few videos of some amazing bands playing amazing songs amazingly. Get the point?
1) "Half-Light"- Porcupine Tree
Get used to seeing this band referenced here. Brilliant songwriting, harmonies, rhythm, and quite simply the finest drummer that ever picked up a pair of sticks.
2) "Idioteque"- Radiohead
I know, I know. Radiohead. But believe me when I say that they deserve every bit of praise they get- they changed things, and still stay on top. This is one of my favorite performances of one of their best songs. Very trippy.
3) "Stay"- Son Lux, aka Ryan Lott
Ryan Lott (as Son Lux) is an exceptionally talented remix artist. This is a solo piano version of a song off his debut album, "At War With Walls and Mazes". Chilled, laid back groove and very minimal lyric. Goes great with cocktails.
